LL Cool J

Curtis has been a fan of LL Cool J since the start of his multi-faceted career, so it was quite a treat when the man himself visited the Wednesday night Jam and The Lazy Lounge in White Plains this past week.

LL Cool J started out as a rapper gracing the world with such hits as "Around the way girl", "Doing It" and "Mama said knock you out". He has gone on to prove himself as actor in several movies and now stars in "NCIS Los Angeles" as Agent Hannah.

Our impression of LL Cool J was this... friendly, gracious, attentive and of course... COOL!!

Hey... you never know who's going to stop by our little jam!!

Curtis' most recent production is a solo CD called, “Do the Natural Thing” produced by Stoopid Daddy Records and Grammy award winning engineer Larry Alexander.  It has been a labor of love and was released in October of 2011. One song on the album, in particular, is close to Curtis’ heart; “Carry On” – co-written by Curtis and Stoopid Daddy Records founder, Scott Staton – is a tribute to his long-time friend, Steven Scenna, who passed away from Melanoma in 2009.

"Do the Natural Thing" is an unusual blend of R&B, Jazz and Rock influences. Curtis's unique vocal style evokes not only classic Motown, but other influences as well (such as bluesman Robert Cray and Taj Mahal).
